A traditional recipe for a sweet, rich pie, with ‘Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’ thyme honey that you will love.
Ingredients:
- 300 gr. ‘Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’ thyme honey
- 1 kg anthotyro or myzithra cheese (or 500 gr. each)
- 7 medium eggs
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- ½ tsp. cinnamon
- 100 gr. sugar
- lemon zest, from 1 lemon
For serving:
- ‘Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’ thyme honey
- cinnamon
- walnuts or almonds
- fresh thyme leaves
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180oC.
- In a bowl mix ‘Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’ thyme honey, the cheese, broken into pieces and mix well until the ingredients are nicely combined.
- Add the eggs, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, lemon zest and mix with a ladle.
- Pour the mixture in a buttered and floured pan and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool well.
- Spread ‘Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades’ thyme honey on top of the honey pie, sprinkle with cinnamon, walnuts or almonds and thyme and enjoy!
