Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades created Holy Cross, a new dessert wine born of Omodos’ heritage. The thousand-year-old local occupation with wine and the tradition of the Holy Cross are intertwined in this wine, the jewel of the Cypriot vineyard.

Holy Cross is created from the indigenous varieties Mavro and Xynisteri, responsible for its deep amber color. On the nose, it presents a distinct aromatic aged character, reminiscent of flower honey, dried fruit and butterscotch. For its production, the faithfully traditional method is used with exposure of the grapes to the sun for at least 14 days.

This new label also serves as a continuation of the religious traditions of Omodos, preserving in perpetuity the historical testimonies of the visit of the Saint Helen to the Cypriot grounds, during which she donated to the Holy Cross Monastery a piece of the Holy Cross and the Holy Cannavos (the rope with which the Jews tied Jesus Christ to the cross).

Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades attempted to bottle in Holy Cross our sacred heritage as a return to the place that gave birth to it.
